The New York Jets brought in free-agent wide receiver Sidney Rice for a visit on Wednesday in an effort to fill a need in the passing game. A few hours later, Rice re-signed with the Seahawks, meaning that the focus now turns solely to grabbing a pass-catching threat in the NFL Draft next month.

In that group of draft eligible receivers, there aren’t too many better than Brandin Cooks and Odell Beckham, who NFL.com is reporting will both visit with the Jets next week.

"Two more wide receivers are set to visit the New York Jets next week as LSU’s Odell Beckham Jr. and Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks get a chance to sell their draft value to the NFL club that needs a first-round-caliber wide receiver perhaps more than any other."

Cooks has been said to be on the Jets’ radar for a quite a long time, and is a favorite of head coach Rex Ryan since he attended his pro day. Beckham has been steadily rising up the draft boards as he works out for teams and shows them that what they saw him do at LSU was no aberration.

The Jets sit with the No. 18 overall pick next month in the first round and — looking at most of the mocks right now — it’s fairly safe to assume that they could have their choice between both talents when it’s time to turn in the card.
