On Wednesday a report surfaced that the Cleveland Browns will be meeting with Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray next week, and it appears that if everything goes well that the Browns may be inclined to use a draft pick in May to bring Murray on board to their roster.

According to the latest buzz swirling in Cleveland, “the Browns like AJ McCarron and will draft him.”

The news comes from ESPN Cleveland.

Murray, who is coming off of a torn ACL that ended his college football career, would be an intriguing pick because he is not expected to be selected until the second or third round.

By zeroing in on Murray, the Browns could decide to focus on using their two first-round draft picks to fill other needs.

They could then use a Day 2 pick on the former Georgia standout.

Then again, as the Buffalo Bills showed us last year when they reached for E.J. Manuel, if a team is interested in a quarterback prospect and believes that he could be the man to take their franchise to the next level, they could be willing to shock the rest of the NFL by making what is considered a “reach.”

Whether or not the report is true or a smokescreen remains to be seen, but we are just three weeks away from the 2014 NFL Draft and should be getting answers soon.
