NBA Draft Rumors: Dante Exum signs endorsement deal with adidas
By Josh Hill
The NBA career of prospect Dante Exum will see merchandiser adidas tag along for the ride, at least in the beginning. While he has yet to be drafted and he could end up going just about anywhere in the lottery, Dante Exum at least has one thing figured out and locked down about his NBA career — the sponsor he’s going to represent when he goes pro.
According to Allan Brettman from the OregonLive.com, Exum will be signing with adidas when he turns pro this June.
"Adidas announced on Thursday a partnership with Australian NBA Draft prospect Danté Exum.“I’m really excited to join the Adidas family,” Exum said in a news release. “I’ve had the opportunity to play in Adidas Nations in the past and I’ve always liked their shoes and gear. I look forward to what’s to come for me and Adidas.”"
This isn’t something tone taken lightly, as Exum is a relative unknown to casual NBA fans but his deal with adidas almost guarantees that he’ll become one of the bright young faces of the NBA’s futures campaign. He may not blossom into a star, but adidas is going to be there in case he does — especially seeing as it’s entirely likely he has an outstanding rookie campaign.
It also doesn’t hurt that his chances of ending up with the Los Angles Lakers is rather high.
