The Philadelphia 76ers are jockeying for the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft this June and while they won’t find out where they are picking until the Draft Lottery in May, one team may already be starting to make some moves to clear space for incoming rookie players.

According to Tom Moore of PhillyBurbs.com, it’s very possible that forward Thaddeus Young requests a trade before the draft starts.

Per Moore:

"Young, who averaged career-highs in points (17.9) and steals (2.1, third in NBA), said it’s “a possibility” he could ask management to trade him. That decision probably won’t be made he sees what happens in the June draft."

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that Young was going to request a trade and it likely won’t be the last. While he’s been solid all year for the Sixers, the logic has always been that Young isn’t interested in waiting around to compete for a title while the Sixers rebuild and grow.

Last time we heard these sorts of rumors, they went nowhere. This time around the Sixers may pull the trigger depending on how the draft shakes up and how many picks they get in the lottery.
