Former Washington Huskies quarterback Keith Price, while having one of the more successful careers in the history of the school, is generally not talked about when discussing the QB class in the upcoming NFL Draft. Scouts are knocking his height and generally his overall ability to play the position at the next level.

It kind of sounds familiar, doesn’t it? It almost sounds like the same kind of criticisms that were thrust in the direction of Russell Wilson prior to the 2012 NFL Draft, and we all know how his career is turning out thus far.

That’s why it’s no surprise that Wilson has decided to take Price under his wing during the draft process. In an interview with the NFL Network recently, Price described the relationship he has struck up with the Super Bowl champion quarterback.

"“Russ is a great friend of mind,” Price said during an appearance on NFL Network’s “Path to the Draft”. “He’s a competitor, a guy who is a true leader. He’s not a guy who thinks he knows it all.“Having a mentor like that, it just makes my life a lot easier. Throughout this process I’ve been able to contact him a couple of times. He kind of had the same chip on his shoulder that I do. It really didn’t matter what team he went to, he was going to be successful and that’s the same way that I fill.”"

It must be Price to know that whatever criticisms that he hears, he has someone like Wilson to turn to that can tell him to believe otherwise–because he has personally proved the doubters wrong.
