2014 NFL Draft rumors: Saints expected to draft a wide receiver
By Josh Sanchez
The New Orleans Saints have one of the best quarterbacks in the league thanks to Drew Brees, but they could be looking to improve his chances of success by adding more weapons around him during the 2014 NFL Draft.
According to Mike Triplett of ESPN.com, the Saints are expected to select at least one receiver during the draft.
The Saints will need to begin looking for Marques Colston’s replacement with the veteran beginning to decline, and drafting a young wide receiver will allow the team to pair him with Kenny Stills for the future to create what they hope will be a formidable duo on the outside.
There is no word on how early the team could decide to go receiver, but the middle rounds appear to be the best target.
It is a deep wide receiver class, so the Saints should be able to pick up a talented pass catcher between rounds three and six.
