After the worst finish in Los Angeles Lakers franchise history, the team will be waiting to see exactly where their pick in the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery will be once the lottery takes place.

However, the Lakers may not end up picking at the position they are given.

Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak spoke with the media on Friday as he wrapped up the exit interviews for the season, and let it be known that there is a possibility the team could be trading their pick.

While the team could be interested in moving the pick, there doesn’t seem to be any traction on a deal just yet.

From  Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

It is possible that if everything falls perfectly for the Lakers and they land in the top few selections despite their unlikely odds that they could retain the pick, but it would seem like the more “Laker-esque” move to trade and acquire an established veteran.

One name that has continuously been linked to the Lakers over the past few months is Kevin Love, so if the Lakers land outside of the top five like they are expected to do we could finally see a trade go down.

Of course, there is still plenty that needs to play out, so buckle up and prepare for a fun few months.
