The NFL Draft is right around the corner and teams are starting to decide what they want to do with their first-round pick. For some teams, this means trading down and for those at the back of the first-round it means trading out of the first day of selections.

It’s very possible that the Denver Broncos fall into this category as they’ll be in serious need of cheap young talent in future years and may be best served to trade down and pick up picks in future drafts. But Mike Klis from the Denver Post is on the opposite end of this logic and insists that it’s in Denver’s best interest to hang onto their pick than trade it.

The logic behind keeping the pick is that there’s extra contract flexibility and that may serve the Broncos well down the road. They went bananas this offseason breaking the bank and while they aren’t totally thinking about the future, they may want to start setting pieces in place that ease their salary cap pain down the road.
