NBA Playoffs 2014, Serge Ibaka injury: Thunder big man suffers cramp, returns to game
During the third quarter of game 2 of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s first round playoff series against the Memphis Grizzlies, Thunder fans had a lot to be nervous about.
Not only did the Grizzlies keep their halftime lead of three by the end of the quarter, but Thunder big man Serge Ibaka left the game with what appeared to be a leg issue. Ibaka went up for a rebound on the previous play, but did not seem to land in any kind of awkward way, making the injury seem quite strange.
According to Anthony Slater of The Oklahoman, Ibaka simply suffered a cramp and is fine.
Ibaka returned to the game in the third quarter.
Ibaka, who finished fourth in the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year voting, has scored 13 points, pulled down seven rebounds and blocked four shots in 34 minutes for the Thunder.
