There has been plenty of discussion about who should be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, with three names being the most likely. Duke star Jabari Parker and Kansas stars Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid are the most common names associated with the No. 1 pick, and that point was once again emphasized in a current poll with  30 NBA personnel people “from numerous GMs to player personnel guys and NBA scouts.”

As you would expect, Parker, Embiid and Wiggins were the only three players to get votes, with Parker running away with the vote.

Here are the results of the poll conducted by ESPN’s Jeff Goodman:

  • Jabari Parker: 17 votes
  • Joel Embiid: 8 votes
  • Andrew Wiggins: 5 votes

With Parker being considered the player most likely to contribute from day one, he should be favored to go with the first pick.

However, both Embiid and Wiggins bring intriguing skill sets that would be deserving of the pick depending on what team comes away on top after the draft lottery.

There is still plenty of time until the NBA Draft so things could continue to shake up, but for now these three players will be fighting for the honors of going No. 1 overall.
