While most teams give out magnetized schedules, player t-shirts or even at times bobbleheads, the Chicago Cubs are flipping the script for their game on April 23rd.

Celebrating the 100th birthday of Wrigley Field, the Cubs have decided to hand out birthday cupcakes to the first 10,000 fans in attendance for the celebration on Wednesday afternoon.

I’ve seen a lot of unique and rather strange promotional giveaways in the past, but that might take the cake – pun intended.

It’s actually a really cool idea from the Cubs marketing department, though I’m not sure I want to know the amount of preservatives that were put into those.

The cakes will be coming from Jewel-Osco, a local grocery chain in the Illinois area.

For those who aren’t able to make it to the iconic baseball stadium, WGN has you covered as they’ll be broadcasting the entire celebration:

"WGN-TV will present a LIVE pregame special covering the on-field celebration of Wrigley Field’s highly-anticipated 100th birthday on Wednesday, April 23rd.  WGN’s Dan Roan will host “Wrigley 100” starting at 12:30pm CT on WGN-TV Chicago and nationally on WGN America.  Live coverage continues as the Chicago Cubs host the Arizona Diamondbacks exactly one century after the Chicago Federals opened then-Weeghman Park against the Kansas City Packers April 23, 1914.  Respectively, each team will don Federals/Packers uniforms in tribute to that day.  WGN’s Len Kasper and Jim Deshaies will announce the game."
