Earlier on Tuesday, there were some reports that the Seattle Seahawks were making “significant progress” in contract talks with star cornerback Richard Sherman, but it turns out that the reports may not have been accurate.

The reports claimed a deal could be done before the draft, but now we are hearing a different side to the story.

According to a Pro Football Talk source, the reports are false and the two sides still have plenty of work to do. The progress that has been made between the two sides “nowhere near what has been reported.”

Whoops.

There is still hope that progress will be made before the draft and that they will be able to reach an agreement on a contract extension within the next 16 days, but it is not a certainty like earlier reports had claimed.
