Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman is without a doubt the loudest defensive back in the NFL and he is about the become the richest as well. After an offseason of kicking the tires on working out a long-term deal with Seattle, it appears that Sherman is nearing a deal with the Seahawks that would keep him in town long-term and make him the highest paid cornerback in the NFL.

According to Jason LaCanfora from CBSSports.com, the deal Sherman is looking at could be in the neighborhood of $13 million per season and could end up getting finalized before the NFL Draft.

This would be huge for the Seahawks as it would essentially be a giant weight off their shoulders. There’s no way they were ever going to let Sherman even sniff free agency and there’s a good chance he wouldn’t have signed elsewhere anyways. But just the fact that he’ll likely be locked up before the draft — or at least soon after — give the Seahawks and their fans peace of mind.

Nothing has been finalized yet and there’s no saying something will for sure get done by the draft, but it appears that talks between Sherman and the Seahawks are nearing an end and the outcome seems to be very positive on both ends.
