The New York Knicks are trying to make moves that will ensure Carmelo Anthony is back in 2014-15 and is back for the long term, but until he signs that contract there is the possibility of him leaving and signing one with another team.

According to Eddie Sefko of SportsDayDFW, the growing belief that the Houston Rockets are becoming front runners in the race isn’t as strange as it sounds and should Melo leave the Knicks, the Rockets are one of his most likely landing places.

Per Sefko:

"Houston has the ducks lined up to make it happen. That would give them a three-headed superstar grouping, which would either be awesome or blow up in their faces if Carmelo won’t share the ball with Harden and Howard."

This is a bit of an interesting choice but Sefko isn’t the first one to bring it up and he won’t be the last. Houston landed Dwight Howard in free agency which was a huge win for them and gives them confidence they can land Melo as well.

He’ll need to leave New York first, which is growing unlikely the more Phil Jackson teases big chances for the team, but we must keep an eye on Houston as they could sneak in and blow things up on everyone again.
