The Houston Texans have no idea what they want to do with the No. 1 overall pick it seems, but there could be one scenario brewing that ends up happening that we haven’t seen for a while in the NFL.While it’s possible that the Texans simply trade th No. 1 overall pick and per another team do as they please with it, a new report suggests the Texans could pull off the ever rare draft and trade.

According to NFL Network’s Gil Brandt, the Texans could consider drafting Jadeveon Clowney for a team they’ve already talked to and then trading him to that team once they make their pick.

We’ve seen this happen before but it’s very rare to see happen in the NFL, where as it’s an annual occurrence in the NBA Draft. The San Diego Chargers and New York Giants infamously did this with Eli Manning and Philip Rivers and that resulted in two Super Bowls for the Giants and a lot of heartbreak for the Chargers.

The question is whether or not it’s a smart move, as it seems like the same thing as trading Clowney. But there’s always the chance whoever the Texans want is gone and they’d be able to pull out of the deal, meaning they’d end up with Clowney as their pick which isn’t the worse thing ever.
