2014 NFL Draft Rumors: Cleveland Browns owner wants Johnny Manziel

Johnny Manziel is the marquee name for the 2014 NFL draft that is now only two weeks away with the former Texas A&M Aggies quarterback linked to nearly every team from the Houston Texans at No. 1 to the Dallas Cowboys at No. 16 and virtually every place in between.

While some scouts are mixed on his talent level and how his skills translate to the NFL, his marketability and star power has never been in question and that is one primary reason why the Cleveland Browns will take him at No. 4, according to Fox Sports’ Peter Schrager.

This reasoning is why Manziel could be gone to the Jacksonville Jaguars who pick one spot ahead of the Browns, but if he is on the board when Cleveland is on the clock, it would make great business sense for the Browns to take Manziel and help sell tickets and jerseys considering the team has struggled mightily at filling the position and have a need for a face of the franchise.

Grab the QB and watch what happen. Us Browns fans don’t want him. He will be booed. And will be out of town in 3yrs.

Yeah I’m not crazy about Manziel either. I’d rather have someone like Jimmy Garoppolo, Aaron Murray, Teddy Bridgewater, Kieth Wenning, Blake Bortles, or AJ McCarron. But whoever we get I’m going to root for him and support him because he will be a brown and I love the browns. And if we do end up getting Manziel I hope he proves us all wrong. 14 more days GO BROWNS!!!

wow Lottery King…guess we know why the Browns are looking to draft their 22nd QB.

Lottery King, let me say that I am a hardcore Browns fan. I want them to draft Johnny Manziel. Not only that, I want the Browns to draft him badly. It’s the same thing every year on these message boards. It’s like the beat down Browns fans are afraid to swing for the fences every now and then. Every year it’s “lets trade down and get a QB later.” How’s that worked out? There’s a reason some QB’s are still around in the later rounds. Not everyone is Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson. They are usually the Brandon Weeden types.

Colby, let me tell you i too am a hardcore browns fan and I don’t wast them to draft johnny maziel. I think this swing for the fences could be more embarrassing and set the browns back even more years. First I don’t think maziel is all that good but that’s my opinion so that doesn’t factor. Second I think the media is treating the browns-manziel situation like match-making couples in high school. They tireless say he has the “it” factor and the browns never had a good QB since cosar but all in all they want his name and face on the franchise of the browns and if it wasn’t for his star status everyone would be hoping for bridgewater since everyone thinks he’s the most pro ready.
