After losing game 1 of their first round playoff series to the Atlanta Hawks 101-93, the Indiana Pacers evened things up with a 101-85 victory in game 2. The Pacers looked to regain home court advantage in game 3, but the Hawks had other plans. Behind 22 points and 10 assists from Jeff Teague, the Hawks defeated the Pacers 98-85 to take a 2-1 series lead.

Kyle Korver added 20 points while DeMarre Carroll scored 18 and Paul Millsap poured in 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

Late in the game, the Pacers cut the lead to six, but Teague hit an out-of-control running three-pointer to put the Pacers in front 87-78. The Pacers would never get any closer than seven.

The Hawks again used a barrage of three-pointers to keep the Pacers spread out on defense. The Hawks hit 12 of their 34 attempts from beyond the arc and no shot was bigger than Teague’s.

After a near even first half that saw the Hawks take a one-point lead into the break, the Pacers took the lead on their first possession of the second half. That’s when the Hawks seemed to take control of the game. They staged an 11-2 run to build an eight-point lead.

The Pacers were led by Lance Stephenson’s 21 points.

David West had 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists and Paul George scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, but shot just three-of-11 from the field.

Roy Hibbert had another awful game, scoring four points on two-of-nine shooting from the field. He played just 19 minutes.

Game 4 is Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm EST and is on TNT.
