The Detroit Lions have the No. 10 pick in the draft and it’s really still up in the air as to what they are going to do. While there has been increasing talk about Detroit trading up to take a top prospect, there’s the belief that if they stand pat they will still get a top prospect at which ever position they draft.

One position they are considering is cornerback and Detroit could make Justin Gilbert the first defensive back taken in the draft at No. 10 overall. According to beat writer Tim Twentymen, the Lions are meeting with Gilbert on Thursday thus showing an interest in drafting him.

The Lions need help in their secondary, which is something that Gilbert would instantly provide. having a young cornerback would give the Lions yet another solid defender, as Darius Slay has started to catch on and pairing young Slay with young Gilbert seems to be an attractive combo.

Still, the Lions can do any number of things with their pick, and nothing will be set in stone until they send their draft to Roger Goodell.
