With the 2014 NFL Draft just two weeks away, it appears that the New York Giants could be zeroing in on one of the top wide receivers in the draft. According to reports, the Giants are interested in adding Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans, who is near the top of their draft board.

From the New York Daily News:

"Several sources have told the Daily News recently that Evans, a 6-5, 225-pounder, is up near the top of the Giants’ draft board and a player they very seriously have their eye on at No. 12."

If Evans is still on the board and the Giants tab him as their pick, it is a move that star wide receiver Victor Cruz would be completely on board with.

“He’s a guy that’s a big body that can get down the field, that can catch the ball with strength over his head, around defenders,” Cruz said. “He’s a guy that I watched a lot during his college tenure and that I’m excited about.”

The biggest question will be whether or not Evans is still available, but if he is, it appears that the Giants are ready to give Eli Manning another weapon on the outside — even if tight end and offensive tackle may be more pressing needs.
