Raiders could trade Denarius Moore if they select Clemson WR Sammy Watkins in the draft

The Oakland Raiders have the No. 5 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, which is right around the corner. Some Raiders fans asked ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez during a Twitter Q&A session about the future of wide receiver Juron Criner if they draft Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins. Gutierrez said he didn’t have Criner making the team anyways, but had an interesting suggestion involving receiver Denarius Moore.

From ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez:

Moore could be trade bait, especially if Sammy Watkins does fall to the Raiders since so many — presently company included — see Watkins as Moore 2.0.

Gutierrez went on to cite Moore’s inconsistent play, despite flashes of brilliance. Moore had 46 receptions for 695 yards and five touchdowns in 2013.

And that makes him an intriguing trade possibility for other teams that could perhaps absorb said inconsistency. But yeah, again, if the Raiders somehow get Watkins, I don’t know how Moore fits, at least, in May.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

Moore needs to go either way.

Because getting rid of your best play maker is a good idea?

Too many drops. Goes missing in games. Has to have his Manhood questioned to play well. Do you even watch Raider games?

        • KloverJane

He needs maturity and a sense of desire.

Any player on a team with back-to-back 4 – 12 seasons is expendable.

Michael, we have a “best playmaker”?? Last time Moore was a playmaker was 2011. He has developed a clear case of the drops.

Sponge Billy Bob is at it again…. This guy is a true Moore hater, and his opinion really does not matter. I just wish that he would identify himself instead of hiding behind that stupid eye… Be a real man and come from behind the computer scumbag.. And for the rest of you opinionated butt holes, Moore dropped 1 more ball than Streater and not one negative article was written about him last year, because he was not the problem. As a matter of fact, all articles were good, until they stopped throwing him the ball!!! And then guess what happened?!??!! They stopped winning!!!

Moore is the last of the Al Davis scholarship picks. The Raiders organization cannot get better until all these players are gone.

        • Willie Lunchmeat

That is a stupid statement Bob…. Go find your other eye… it might help you a little..

Watkins would probably return our status as much needed legitimacy in the nfl. At least on paper. And a high mark in knowing how to draft.

Can anybody attribute what’s happened to Moore as well…. The Raiders haven’t had consistency at the quarterback position? If you would even dare to call them quarterbacks. I mean Pryor couldn’t throw a peanut though a tire from 3 feet away without hitting the black, and McGloin got batted down so much that throwing interceptions seems like the less embarrassing choice at the end of his short starting career.

Look at it this way. Maybe he was dropping balls because the QB’s were so inconsistent that when the ball finally arrived near him he was so shocked in disbelief that his nerves got the best of him.

If he is still around next season let’s see if Schaub can help save his career with a little thing called “consistency”.
