The Houston Texans have the No. 1 overall pick and are facing a tough decision, do they take a quarterback with the expectations that he lead the franchise for years to come, or do they take the best overall player who might be defensive end Jadeveon Clowney or linebacker Khalil Mack? When the Texans were an expansion team they drafted quarterback David Carr.

Texans owner Bob McNair regrets throwing Carr to the wolves and starting him right away, and hinted that this time around they might have a rookie sit to learn how to be an NFL quarterback before playing.

“I think the main thing I look back on is that we should have had a veteran quarterback in there,” McNair said, via the Houston Chronicle. “We should have let him start the season and let David learn what it takes to be an NFL quarterback.”

After trading Matt Schaub, they might be pressured to test a quarterback early.
