Destiny saved games can transfer across next-gen
By Chris Lacey
There was a recent press event for Destiny, where Bungie announced that people who upgrade to the latest consoles can take their saved progress and characters with them.
According to Polygon, the investment lead Tyson Green said that Xbox 360 and PS3 owners could use their saved characters when they buy an Xbox One or PS4.
“We’re interested in making sure that last gen character can move to next gen,” he said. “A lot of people are going to buy Destiny on PS3 or Xbox 360 and then get a PS4 for Christmas. Don’t tell me I wasted those last 100 hours there. So we’re really interested in supporting that. Our longer-term platform plans, I couldn’t speak to right now. But we don’t want to lock people in.”
He didn’t go into detail about how the transfers would take place and also said that no decision has been made for those console owners who switch brands.
This is a very good feature that was added for people that have yet to upgrade to the newer consoles.
Destiny is shaping up to be a solid game that should provide people with plenty to do. Also this could be a trend that other games follow by giving people the ability to transfer their saves to other consoles.
You can leave a comment below on your thoughts about Destiny having this feature and if you would like to see other games in the future have this.
Thanks, Polygon
