Could Jerry Rice be suiting up for the San Francisco 49ers this season? It’s completely possible, assuming it’s the younger Jerry Rice.

The son of the former 49ers legend is doing what he can to make the San Francisco roster after spending four seasons between UNLV and UCLA, recently taking part in the 49ers local Pro Day.

"“I’m trying to get in the door, front door, side window, I’m trying to jump in there,” Jerry Rice Jr. said, adding that he trains with his dad and that they share precise route-running and dependable hands. “All I want is an opportunity, so that’s what I’m working for right now.”"

Rice Jr. isn’t likely to be selected in the upcoming 2014 NFL Draft and will likely need to make a roster as a free agent, though if he has the same work ethic and training regimen as his father, he shouldn’t have much trouble finding a home.

Will that be in San Francisco? That remains to be seen, though, they’ll certainly be massive footsteps to follow in if that does prove to be the case.
