For the last few weeks now, one team rumored to be working hard at trying to move up in next week’s NFL Draft has been the Buffalo Bills.

The latest media member to report on a potential trade up is ESPN’s Todd McShay.

“I’ve heard from three league sources in the past week that the Bills are trying to trade up,” McShay wrote (requires insider). McShay then listed that the Bills could be targeting South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson or Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins.

General manager Doug Whaley has addressed these rumors in the past, and even went as far as to admit he’s imagined a Bills defensive line with Clowney, Mario Williams, Kyle Williams and Marcell Dareus.

Whaley also stated at last Friday’s pre-draft press conference that he knows that he can use the media to his advantage at this point. Whether or not this is one of those cases remains to be seen, but it’s interesting to discuss that Whaley and the Bills are doing just that has the draft is right around the corner.
