NFL Trade Rumors: Could Oakland Raiders acquire Ndamukong Suh in draft day swap?
By Josh Hill
‘Tis the season for draft day trade talk in the NFL as there seems to be no other time of the season in which trades are as actively talked about and considered than on the first day of the NFL Draft. While we typically only see trades that exchange picks for picks, there have been notable names moved on draft day including Randy Moss and Eli Manning.
It’s not often though that we see big name players on the move but that doesn’t stop us from talking about it. Raiders beat writer Vic Tafur was asked such an outlandish scenario in which the Detroit Lions would trade Ndamukong Suh and the No. 10 overall pick to the Raiders for the No. 5 pick.
Given the Raiders willingness to trade down if they don’t have the right guy there and how well Suh’s devil may care attitude fits the Raiders lethal reputation, the trade would be easy to make.
The only question is would the Lions agree to it and the chances of that are rather low, even if the team is having trouble negotiating with Suh on a long term deal. If they do trade Suh, which isn’t totally out of the question, don’t expect it to be before or during the draft but the Raiders could be in play down the road.
