The New York Knicks are at home watching the postseason unfold and it would appear that they’re about to make a move that could put them in a position to not be doing that next season.

According to Mitch Lawrence of the NY Daily News, the Knicks have brought in Bill Cartwright for an interview and he met directly with Phil Jackson in his meeting. Basically, this means that Steve Kerr is all but in the bag at this point and will soon be announced as head coach with Cartwright serving as his right hand man on the coaching staff.

Cartwright has been around the NBA forever and has worked with a lot of different people in the league. But the three headed monster of Kerr, Jackson and Cartwright is one heck of a way to pull the Knicks coaching staff out of the heap it was in just a week ago and the combo should be attractive to free agents.

Of course, nothing is official but it would appear that Jackson is lining things up to hire both Kerr and Cartwright at the same time and then begin building from there.
