You know the NFL draft being pushed back two weeks has been a complete mess when even the best talent evaluators in the country are down on Teddy Bridgewater and high on Tom Savage, but that’s the world we live in now. During a conference call, NFL media analyst Mike Mayock said the Bridgewater is not a first-round pick any longer and Savage has the best arm-talent of anyone in this class.

Bridgewater entered the pre-draft process as the top quarterback after a successful career with the Louisville Cardinals, but a poor pro day saw his stock sliding as fast as a kid down a water slide and Savage, despite playing in only 13 games with average to above-average production in the last three years, has seen his stock soaring like a rocket.

Would this hyperbole be flying if the draft was scheduled as its normal late-April date? I don’t think so but it looks like some team will get a steal in Bridgewater in the second round and some team could be left with a lemon who takes Savage right around the same area Bridgewater is drafted.

One was a candidate to be the first overall pick and the other a late-round flier three months ago, but despite zero games being played in that time, there is not much difference in the two anymore.
