The Cincinnati Bengals have plenty of talent on both sides of the ball, but they have struggled to get over the hump thanks in part to Andy Dalton’s struggles in the postseason. While Dalton’s play has left a lot to be desired, don’t expect the Bengals to look for a quarterback in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft next week.

Instead, the Bengals will likely look to add some athleticism to their defense before addressing the offensive side of the ball.

Cincinnati has a number of big, physical players on the defensive side of the ball, but a player like Ryan Shazier of Ohio State would bring some much needed versatility and athleticism to the unit. Another thing the Bengals will likely look to add on defense is some youth in the secondary, which they could immediately do by selecting TCU’s Jason Verrett or any other cornerback who slides to them at the No. 24 overall pick.
