The NFL Draft is just around the corner and teams are already looking at way they can shock us and take players we don’t have them anywhere near. Up in Detroit, despite having two quarterbacks already and a third who has been learning the ropes, there is the perception that the team could draft a quarterback at some point in the draft this year and then stash him as a project.

Per Dave Birkett:

"Orlovsky signed a one-year deal this month to be the No. 2, while Moore, a project of the former coaching staff, will have to compete with Orlovsky and any rookie the Lions bring in for his job. They could draft someone in the fourth round or beyond or sign a QB as a priority free agent."

Aaron Murray, Tom Savage, Jimmy Garoppolo and Derek Carr are al listed as possible targets with Murray — a former Georgia Bulldog like Matthew Stafford — having held a private workout with the Lions.

They don’t need a quarterback but the Lions will be among the teams looking at one in the draft anyways as we learned last year that you can never have too many quarterbacks.
