NFL Draft Rumors: David Carr says Browns want to sign him if they draft Derek Carr

The Cleveland Browns are looking at possibly taking a quarterback in this upcoming draft and there’s a chance that quarterback ends up being Fresno State star Derek Carr. Should he go high in the draft, or in the draft at all, he would be the second Carr to be drafted out of Fresno State and the two could join forces in Cleveland.

Per the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, David Carr has confirmed that the Browns have reached out to him with interest in possibly signing him should they draft his younger brother Derek.

David Carr, the former No. 1 overall pick of the Texans and big brother of Browns’ prospect Derek Carr, told cleveland.com Thursday that the Browns are one of about six teams that have talked to him about signing as a backup if they draft his little brother.

This isn’t particularly breaking news, but it’s interesting to note that the notion both Carr brothers could end up on the same team hasn’t yet gone away. There’s no guarantee that Derek and David end up on the same team but it’s a fun thing to imagine.
