NFL Draft Rumors: Kansas City Chiefs a ‘sleeper team’ to take a QB, possibly Derek Carr

Although the Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly working on an extension (a deal with they have been apparently struggling to get done), they are still interested in adding talent to the position.

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.com, the Chiefs could select a quarterback in the first few rounds and lists former Fresno State Bulldogs’ quarterback Derek Carr as one of the possibilities.

Smith had a fine year for the Chiefs, but getting a young player to develop and push Smith certainly isn’t a bad idea.

Carr was fantastic for the Bulldogs last season. He completed 453 of 659 passes for 5,082 yards with 50 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

I would suggest David Fales of San Jose State in the lower rounds.

we already have a great developmental QB in Tyler Bray. He needs some work to get his head on straight but he has just as much if not more raw talent than most of the QBs in this year’s draft. The Chiefs should stick to drafting WRs, DBs, OL and someone to rush the passer.

Classic moment in Chiefs future will be when Smith is being booed off the field and chants of CARR fill the stadium. BACK TO THE FUTURE! DEJA VU!
