Vine taking a YouTube approach?

Only months after the Twitter owned Vine went live with its website, the company is rolling out an overhaul.  While Vine grew to popularity through its video app, the website was largely on lockdown without an account; that is now changed.

Today, the website went live with a new and refreshed approach, taking an aim at creating a strong opportunity for virality.  With new search functions, the ability to view without an account, and showcases for the best work produced by the app, Vine is looking to take advantage of its users creativity.

While many YouTube posters upload without knowing they have video gold on their hands, Vine is now banking in on the same approach.  Allowing browsers to search for content and view as they please, videos are more accessible than ever before.

Twitter, Vine’s parent company that recently went through with their IPO, didn’t bring in exactly what Wall Street was hoping for ($250 million).  Shares fell for Twitter and the company was left looking how to expand its brand.  While Vine has the ability to be a money generator for Twitter, the necessity to redesign the online presence and showcase all that Vine has to offer was very important.

With the ability to not only find the most popular content on Vine, but also search for what you would like to find, both Twitter and Vine are hoping this new move will help to launch the platform into the forefront of the social video viewing scene.
