There may have never been a quarterback in an NFL draft that had as many opinions from so many people as former Texas A&M QB, Johnny Manziel.

Analysts have ranged from calling Manziel a sure-fire first round (even top 10) pick, all the way down to calling him “undraftable”.

One more voice has now been thrown into the mix, with Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell saying that Manziel is probably the most pro-ready QB prospect in this year’s draft. [via Rotoworld.com]

“Johnny would probably be the one guy you could plug in there sooner rather than later just because his style of play isn’t going to change much from Year 1 to Year 2,” Caldwell said.

Right now the Jaguars have the third pick in the upcoming draft, and quarterback is a need that they (once again) will have to address. But many believe that the Jags will go with pass-rush specialist or impact wide receiver at number three, and would only take a quarterback in later rounds, or if they used that 3rd pick to trade down in the first round.

This could be Caldwell’s way of saying that Manziel is hot on their radar screen, but more than likely Jacksonville will try to fill other holes and wait until 2015 to see if a franchise quarterback emerges in that draft class.
