The Jets drafted edge player Quinton Coples 16th overall in 2012, and haven’t exactly gotten the return on their investment that they were hoping for when they made that pick.

The Jets’ front office maybe wouldn’t be quite as blunt about it as former player Joe Klecko, but I’m guessing they agree with his overall assessment of Coples’ performance.

In an appearance on WFAN the great Klecko said, “A little bit of the time [Coples] looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.”

Klecko added, “Sometimes he gets out there and does things that are unbelievable. Well, you need to go out there and stick your nose in there every time and make sure everybody knows you’re there. I think he has a lot to learn.”

The Jets are hoping that they do a little better with whoever they draft this year in the first round.

New York holds the #18 pick overall and are widely expected to select a wide receiver. Possibly Brandin Cooks or Odell Beckham, Jr.

Meanwhile, they just have to hope that Coples gets over his Jane-like tendencies and lets his Tarzan come out a little more consistently, otherwise they will have to find someone else to swing in and give them production on the edge.
