While we certainly hear about all the bad professional athletes do, when it comes to good causes, they’re not nearly as publicized.
You may recall there wasn’t anything more than a small news blurb about San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis sending flowers and a card to a young fans birthday party and there hasn’t been much noise about what Chicago Bears offensive lineman Kyle Long did either.
Contacted by the father of a 9-year-old who has been dealing with bullies, Long decided to take matters into his own hands and invited his young fan to come hang out. Their stop? None other than famed child hotspot, Chuck E. Cheese.
In addition, Long all but insinuated that if he has any more problems at school, he’ll come deal with the bully himself.
"“I had reached out to Kyle on Twitter and told him that my son had been bullied on the bus at school and he was having a hard time dealing with it,” Oyston told FOXSports.com. “And Kyle replied, ‘Hey, I’ll come ride the bus with him.’”"
Way to make your city and franchise proud, Kyle. Awesome stuff.
