The NBA hot stove isn’t really that hot yet but it’s starting to heat up as more and more teams are bounced from the postseason and the mindset of the league switches from trying to win a championship this year to trying to win on next year.

One team that nearly kept their miracle season going were the Dallas Mavericks, but already teams are looking at their pending free agents and licking their chops. Vince Carter, for instance, is set to become a free agent and the Toronto Raptors are already showing an interest in brining him back to where his career started.

Per Marc Stein:

"Word is that the Raptors have been kicking around the idea of making a free-agent play this summer to try to bring Vince Carter “home” by trying to sign the former face of the franchise away from the Mavericks."

Carter made a name for himself in the late 90s and early 2000s as ‘Vince-sanity’ hit the NBA hard while Carter was flying high with the Raptors. Going back tot he team, especially now that they’re starting to become contenders, would bring Carter’s career full circle and may be an attractive location for him.

A lot of time lies between now and when the Raptors can legally start making a move on Carter, but its’ going to be a free agent storyline to watch.
