As the NFL Draft approaches this week, teams are starting to condor all options as even though draft boards have specific targeted needs on them, there are also positions that could use some help even if it means you’re just doing your due diligence.

San Diego Charger general manager Tom Telesco is one of those people doing his due diligence with prospects and is seemingly leaving no stone unturned. According to ESPN’s Chargers blog, the team is considering taking a quarterback even though it’s not a pressing positional need.

Per ESPN.com:

"“It’s something you keep your eye on because you never know,” Telesco said. “It’s probably not in the front of your mind, but it’s in the back of our mind all of the time. That’s why we evaluate every position like there’s nobody on our roster."

Philip Rivers isn’t getting any younger and while the Chargers have what we call a ‘developmental quarterback’ already in Brad Sorensen, adding someone like A.J. McCarron, David Fales or Jimmy Garoppolo might not be the worst thing if they cane had at a decent selection.
