The Minnesota Vikings are one of the teams to watch this year in the draft if for no other reason than they always find a way to draft incredibly well. From picking up guys like Sharrif Floyd and Harrison Smith to trading for Cordarrelle Patterson and grabbing gems like Toby Gerhart (now with the Jaguars), the Vikings draft well and produce young stars.

Rick Spielman has made it his business to compile draft picks so that he can either trade them or use them and that’s the plan again this year. While he’s mum about the first round pick the team has, the Vikings general manager did say the team has trade offers on a pair of picks later in the draft.

The Vikings are candidates to also trade up in those rounds, so anything remains possible. But if there’s one thing that Spielman is good at doing, it’s being smart with draft picks and outside of a few notable exceptions, his track record suggests he’ll do well this at this weekend’s draft.
