On Tuesday, the Golden State Warriors fired head coach Mark Jackson, who had one year remaining on his contract, and there are already a number of names who are beginning to surface in connection to the vacancy.

TNT analyst Steve Kerr, who has also been linked to the New York Knicks head coaching vacancy, is one potential candidate for the Warriors opening and Sam Amick of USA Today passed along two more names that would be interested in the job.

Amick wrote:

"TNT analyst Steve Kerr has yet to speak with the Warriors but likely has interest in the job, according to a person familiar with his situation. Also interested in the job are former Lakers and New York Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni and former Clippers and Portland coach Mike Dunleavy, according to a person familiar with the situation."

It would be great to see the Warriors add an offensive mind like D’Antoni to go with their talented roster of players, and he would also be able to stay out West in California to stick it to the Lakers.

The Warriors coaching search will waste no time getting underway, so it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
