One of the stories we will all be paying attention to this season is that of Marcus Lattimore, who will be returning after not only missing a year to to injury but will be returning when it looked as though he never would. Lattimore tore virtually everything he could in his knee while at South Carolina, something that dropped his draft value and inspired college players to take out insurance on themselves or just simply sit out games.

Now, it appears that Marcus Lattimore may be playing football on the two years anniversary of his brutal injury, although he admits he isn’t quite ready to come back yet.

Per San Jose Mercury News:

"Lattimore concedes that he still lacks the first-step burst, the explosiveness through the hole, that once helped him rush for 1,197 yards with 17 rushing touchdowns as a freshman at South Carolina. Lattimore suspects that part won’t come back until he’s on the field again and gets the adrenaline boost that comes from being chased by a defender."

That doesn’t mean he won’t be back, it just means he’s being cautious about his body. Lattimore will play in the NFL and will run at full speed this year and there will be more than a few people rooting for him as he does.
