NFL draft rumors are coming at an ever-more furious pace as we close in on Thursday night.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle is hearing plenty of chatter about a certain much-discussed quarterback from Texas A&M.

Johnny Manziel going #3 to the Jacksonville Jaguars will come as little surprise to anyone who has followed mock drafts over the past few months.

Despite Manziel being downgraded by a lot of people, there are just as many who believe Johnny Football will be the first QB off the board.

Manziel is considered the most polarizing of all the QB prospects. He was a great playmaker in college, but some question whether he can transition to the NFL where pocket passing is more important than improvisation.

There have also been questions about Manziel’s off-field character after so many tales of his college partying.

If the Jacksonville Jaguars want to improve their brand and get a little buzz going around their dead-in-the-water franchise, Johnny Football is the way to go. He brings Joe Namath-like personality and star power to the table along with football skills.

I don’t know if Manziel would ultimately help Jacksonville on the field, but he’d definitely help them draw some headlines and fill some of those empty seats.
