The wrestling world was in awe a few weeks ago when the Undertaker suffered the first loss of his career at WrestleMania at the hands of Brock Lesnar. Some were shocked by the fact that it was someone like Lesnar that was given the nod to have the honor, especially considering the caliber of opponents that the Undertaker has faced before.

One of those men that failed at conquering the streak was Shawn Michaels, who actually was beaten twice in a row by the Dead Man, with the last one being the final bout that he ever competed in at WrestleMania 26.

Recently Michaels joined Jim Ross on his podcast, and whether on purpose or not, the Heartbreak Kid revealed some very interesting details about the end of the famed streak.

To begin with, Michaels did confirm that it was Vince McMahon and not the Undertaker that made the call to end it.

"“I’m sure in Vince’s mind, he’s got a reason. So that’s fine for me. And quite honestly, none of it’s my business anyway so I don’t worry about it.”"

Next, and this is rather interesting, Michaels states that the call was made to put it to an end just four hours before the show.

"“I can tell you four hours.”"

Michaels then speculated that Taker’s physical condition had absolutely nothing to do with McMahon making the call.

"“I think all those things are true. At the end of the day, ultimately, all those things are true, but it still has no bearing on the outcome of the match. That’s just a decision that’s made, one person makes it, and everyone has to abide by it. It’s just that simple. The reasons for that, I don’t know. I don’t know, you don’t know and I’m sure he does.”"

Finally, just like a lot of other people out there, Michaels believes that the streak should have never ended.

"“In my personal opinion, I would have liked to have seen Taker undefeated, then retire. But that’s not my decision to make. Other than that, I’ll reserve all my opinions to myself.”"

These comments from Michaels more or less confirm things that we have already heard since WrestleMania, but they carry a whole lot more weight coming from his mouth.
