While he may play a split role with starter Reggie Bush, running back Joique Bell is still very important to the Detroit Lions, so any talk of a knee injury is apt to make them take notice.

A picture of a knee injury…even more so.

Bell, who dealt with a knee injury through the end of the 2013 season, missed the Lions’ recent three-day voluntary mini-camp, and then posted a picture of his wrapped knee next to a pair of crutches on his Instagram account, with a caption reading “be back in no time”.

The photo has since been deleted from his account and any traces of it posted on other media outlets have also been rendered “unavailable”.

The Lions signed Bell to a three-year, $9.3 million contract in March, and consider him to be hypercritical to the running game, based on Reggie Bush’s history of injuries.

There has been no word from the team as to the severity or nature (or cause) of Bell’s knee issue.
