The Seattle Seahawks were sitting at the No. 32 overall pick as the defending Super Bowl Champions, and they seemed poised to close out the first round of the draft. However, the Minnesota Vikings made a last minute trade.

Minnesota gave up their second-round (No. 40 overall) and fourth-round pick (No. 108 overall) to move up to No. 32.

Immediately it was believed that the Minnesota Vikings leaped up to get ahead of the Houston Texans, who were expected to take a quarterback at the top of Round 2 on Friday night, and that is exactly what they did.

When the pick was announced, the Vikings selected Teddy Bridgewater of Louisville.
