NFL Draft first round results 2014: New York Jets select Calvin Pryor with No. 18 pick
By Josh Hill
The New York Jets are always a fun team to watch draft as they always seem to make their fans angry no matter what happens. Jets fans booing at the draft are more of a staple than Mel Kiper’s hair and they’ll be around a lot longer too. But as far as this year’s pick went, it was another year where the home run pick was demanded by the fans but wasn’t guaranteed by management.
Ultimately, the new York Jets ended up drafting Calvin Pryor from Louisville with the No. 18 overall pick.
The pick makes a lot of sense for the Jets as it gives them someone who can fill a big hole on the roster that they needed shored up in the long haul. It gives them a great option at safety and helps give the Jets defense a big body to keep offenses in line.
