Chicago Cubs primary catcher Welington Castillo was hit by a couple pitchers during last night’s four game series finale victory against the Chicago White Sox.

The Cubs walked away with a huge 12-5 victory which featured three home runs. Mike Olt, Starlin Castro and Anthony Rizzo helped the North Siders power their way to victory over the South Siders.

Now the Cubs open up a three game road series against the Atlanta Braves tonight. Chicago currently sits in fifth place in the division after dropping the first three of four against the White Sox before winning their first series of the season against the St. Louis Cardinals.

According to MLBLineups on Twitter, Castillo will not be in tonight’s series opener against the Atlanta Braves.

Castillo isn’t hurt after taking two for the team last night, so just consider it a rest day. The 27 year old catcher is on pace to break his career high’s in home runs, hits and RBI’s in a single season. Last year he finished with 104 hits, eight home runs and 32 RBI’s.

So far this season Castillo has 25 hits, four home runs and 15 RBI’s. All he needs to do is stay healthy in his second full season as a primary position player.
