One of the bigger surprised in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft Thursday night was that former Southern Cal Trojans’ wide Marqise Lee was not selected.

Lee once looked like a potential top-five prospect, but after knee injuries slowed his production, he saw his draft stock dip.

According to Tony Pauline of Draft Insider, teams have red-flagged Lee’s knee, which is why he has not been selected yet.

"Marqise Lee is expected to come off the board quickly once round two starts but there’s no denying he slipped due to red flags on his injured knee. During the season there were whispers the condition of his knee was worse than USC was letting on and in recent weeks there’s been talk teams were concerned over the injury. At the same time most will have to admit if returns to full health Lee could be the steal of the draft. Don’t forget, Lee was rated higher than Sammy Watkins on most boards prior to the 2013 season."

Lee made 57 catches for 791 yards and four touchdowns in 2013.
