Raiders' Antonio Smith underwent minor surgery after mishap

The Oakland Raiders revamped their defensive line over the off-season with a moves that featured the signing of veteran defensive end Antonio Smith.

Now according to Paul Gutierrez on Twitter, the former Houston Texans defense end underwent minor surgery after suffering a mishap in the weight room.

The team hasn’t released official details on what happened to Smith, but there are a number of things that pop up in your head. I mean, it’s only normal to let your imagination run wild when you find out that teams wouldn’t release details on what was happening.

But if Antonio Smith is saying that he’s fine, I’m guessing whatever happened won’t keep him out for too long. He’ll still serve as Oakland’s interior pass rusher in 2014, as he’ll be accompanied by their rookie linebacker Khalil Mack.

The Raiders have the toughest schedule in the entire league, so it’ll show how far along this defense truly is.
