List of Pittsburgh Steelers 2014 NFL Draft Picks

The Pittsburgh Steelers showed last season that there are some holes to fill on this team. Despite coming back from a terrible start and nearly making the playoffs, this team needs some help and finding that help got a huge boost this weekend with their selections in the 2014 NFL Draft.

With some thinking the team might look for some offensive help in the first round, such as at the wide receiver position, in typical Steelers fashion, they went out instead and selected highly talented Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier to put into that Dick LeBeau defense, and he should make an immediate impact.

Here’s a complete look at the Steelers’ draft picks from the weekend.

I think we addressed all of our positions very well. Of course it has yet TBD, but in the interim I think we did a Great job. Others wanted corner higher, but I contend with a solid LB core we will get closer to dominating like we’re used to. You guys will see and I can’t wait to see Ryan on D.

I am a bit confused by the pick of Archer in the 3rd round. I love his speed and believe he can make an instant impact in the return game, but he is so small in stature that it is hard to see him being more than a situational “gadgety” type of player. I like him, just not in the 3rd round.

Really wish we would have focused more on the secondary and some O Line help,, think we missed some opportunity in the 3 rd round. There were still some good players in those positions and I think we could have gotten Archer in the 4th….but we always seem to get good production out of most of our picks year in and year out. I hope they know something that we fans don’t see.
