The New York Knicks have yet to officially hire Steve Kerr as their head coach but that hasn’t stopped folks from already pinning him as the coach even as he remains with TNT and not in New York. Players have even already come out to endorse Kerr as the next head coach of the team and one of those players is a guy who worked around Kerr during their time together in Phoenix.

Amare Stoudemire spoke on ESPN Radio about Kerr likely becoming the next head coach of the Knicks and had nothing but good things to say about him.

Per Ian Begley of ESPN New York

"“I like Steve Kerr. For one, when he was a GM, he was always preaching about winning and winning a title and that’s something that I adored about him. And then also, secondly, he has a formula to win; he’s been a winner in this league before. He wants to win. And he reminds me of somewhat of a player-coach that knows the game and knows what players go through as far as ups and downs throughout the year and that’s going to help him.”"

It’s unclear if Stoudemire would be someone the Knicks try to move to free up cap space or not if Kerr decides to take over the team but if he’s there he might fight for a guy he knows well form previous year. Still, Kerr hasn’t even accepted the job yet and he’s already getting more love than Mike Woodson could shave ever dreamed of.
